What is the

Good News?

A World in Chaos

Have you noticed that
our world today seems to be filled with nothing but
bad news?

• Sickness & Disease
• Escalating Crime Rates
• Record-High Inflation
• One Crisis After Another

We're reminded that death could be just around the corner for any of us.Your time could come
at any moment.
So, where will you go
when you die?
The Bible says,"It is appointed for man once to die, and after that comes the judgment."
-Hebrews 9:27

Judgment Day
is Coming

"For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil."-2 Corinthians 5:10

My friend, I care enough
about you to share this
truth with you.
The Bible warns of a day
when each of us
will face God’s judgment
for breaking His laws.
►Heaven awaits the innocent.►Hell awaits the guilty.Heaven is an eternal paradise.

Hell is a place
of endless torment -
the just punishment
for sinning against an
infinitely holy God
who has warned us about sin.
(Luke 16:19-31)

The Reality of Sin
We've ALL sinned,
falling short of God's glory.
(Romans 3:23)
The Wages of Sin is Death
What we've earned
for our sin is death -
and that's why everyone dies.
(Romans 6:23)
The Danger of Self-Deception
Our sinful hearts
deceive us into thinking
we are good enough
for Heaven, while
God's Word says
we are not.
(Jeremiah 17:9).

► Maybe you've done good deeds and people consider you to be a "good person."► Maybe you've gone to church.► Maybe you once even prayed a prayer to "ask Jesus into your heart."

It may SHOCK you
to learn that NONE of
those things will
get you into Heaven,
according to the Bible.

So, how CAN you
go to Heaven?

Am I Good Enough
for Heaven?

God's standard for Heaven
is absolute moral perfection.
His Law,
the Ten Commandments,
shows us how we measure up.

Have you everlied......stolen...or hated someone?Have you ever
looked with lust?
Have you everdishonored your parents......or used God's holy name in vain
("OMG")
?
Just one of these actions
is enough to separate us from God for all eternity.
(James 2:10)

No matter how good we think we are...God's Law reveals our true sinful nature.

You know your sins. But our hearts want to
RUN from God
and excuse our sins...
...the same way
a criminal wants to run away from the police.

"But I Go to Church!"
Calling yourself a Christian and even serving in church ministry won't cleanse your sins.
(Matthew 7:21-23)
"God Will Overlook My Sin!"
If God simply forgave
everyone's sins, He wouldn't
be a just Judge.
He will see to it
that justice is served for our sins against Him.
There's no excuse for our sin. There's also nothing we can do to save ourselves. The only hope we have is
in the MERCY of God.

"None is righteous,
no, not one;
no one understands;
no one seeks for God."

-Romans 3:11

So, if none of us are righteous,
and "no one seeks for God..."

...then none of us are good enough for Heaven.

BUT......what if there's a waywe could be seen asinnocent onJudgment Day......and be saved from Hell?

► Thankfully, there is.And that, my friend,
is where the glorious
Good News comes in.

The Good News of the Gospel

Our sins separate us
from a holy God -
but His love and mercy
offer us hope.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave His only Son,
that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life."
-John 3:16

God sent His Son, Jesus,
to live a sinless life,
and die on the cross.
By doing this,
Jesus took God’s wrath
for the sins of all those
who put their trust
in Him for salvation.
Three days later,
He rose again, offering us
the hope of eternal life.

The Payment for Our SinsIf you were caught speeding,
but someone stepped
into the courtroom
and paid your ticket...
JUSTICE could be served
and
you could go FREE.
That's exactly what Christ did
for all those who put
their trust in Him.

The Great ExchangeHe took our place on the cross, even though He was perfect. Our sins were placed on Him, and in exchange, He offers us His perfect righteousness. That's how God can
let us into
Heaven!
God sees the true Christian as having the righteousness of Christ - not because WE are good, but because HE is good, and made a way to save us from our sins. This is why Jesus said,"I am the Way, the Truth,
and the Life.
No one can come to the Father except through Me."-John 14:6

So...
how can you become a Christian?

How You can Be Saved

Simply turn away from
your sins
and trust in Christ alone for salvation.

"Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him."-John 3:36

Pray for God to help you turn from your sin and trust in Christ.Examine your heart.Stop trusting in your own good deeds to save you - they can't, because they could never outweigh your sin.

God will give you a new heart,
with new desires - along with the ability to love
and obey His Word, rather than pursue the sin
you once loved.

The Holy Spirit causes this transformation within us,
leading to a genuine change
in our heart and actions.

Marks of a
True Christian

God's work in our hearts is why true Christians are so different from the world.

For the Christian - our joyful obedience to God's Word is not what earns our salvation. It is the evidence that God has done a miracle in our hearts to change us from the inside out.

When God helps us
understand how hopeless
we are without Christ,
it should make us instantly
hate our sin
and want to turn from it - and turn towards Christ,
believing in what
He did on the cross for us.
Evidence of True Faith
A true Christian experiences a deep change.
Their lives are marked by a genuine love of God's Word, a hatred of sin, and a desire to follow Christ wholeheartedly. While we won't be made perfect until we reach Heaven, a true Christian will always be broken when they sin and they'll desire to draw closer to Christ.Out of obedience,
a true Christian will:
•Want to pray
and study the Bible
•Want to attend a church that teaches the Bible faithfully•Want to share
the Gospel with others
•Want to be baptized as Jesus commands, to show the world they have been transformed by God's Spirit

What is God
Doing?

It's life's biggest question -
and the answer may
surprise you.

Why did God allow sin to enter the world? Why did God choose to send Jesus to save us?What is God doing?Romans 9
gives the answer
to these questions with one of the most powerful truths found in Scripture.
God did it all...
...so that for all eternity,
He will display both
His justice
in punishing sin...
...and His mercy, in saving sinners like you and me, through the kindness of what Jesus did on the cross."Sinners receive justice, Christians receive mercy, and no one receives INJUSTICE from God."-R.C. SproulPraise God
for His glorious grace!
